John's obituary
John Brown (Tom) was born to the late John W. Brown and Monell Washington on January 17, 1948, in Lincoln County, MS.
In 1968 he was drafted into military service, he chose the Marines. During this period he was shipped to Vietnam and served 2.5 tours then was injured and sent back home. He remained in the service via reserves until 1975. Tom had a varied work history, Long Shore Rigger, Taxi Driver, and electrician. Tom worked for PWC as a High Voltage Electrician while in this role he became a union steward. Because he was detail oriented, he excelled in this role, winning several cases. He also loved to watch TV, sorry to say, one of his favorite programs was FOX News. He avidly followed the Power Trilogy and when the seasons ended, he returned to his first love, Westerns. But his true passion was working on and restoring older vehicles. Tom would go to the Fremont racetrack when they had open races where he would run his Dodge Dart. Electronics was also a fascinating passion of his. He could build a desktop computer from the ground up. He would work on everyone’s cars and computers or be on the phone giving advice and step by step instructions to those who called looking for some assistance.
He loved to play chess and dominos with friends.
He left to cherish his memory, his wife, Delphine Haynes (Brown): children Anthony M. Brown, Israel L. Brown, Wessely D. Brown, Desiree M. Brown, and Alexandria P. Brown.
Two sisters, Lanell Washington and Mary Brown and brothers: Thomas Brown, Randy Brown, Jamie Brown, Calvin Brown, Anthory Bullock and Jewel Bullock. Tom also has a brother in heart, Foley Caldwell.
He also leaves to mourn Aunt Gloria Scott and grandchildren Chafareya Brooks, Anthony Brown Jr., Kaelyn Brice, Jaidon Brown, Isabelle Brown, Conner Brown, and Peyton Lee P. Haynes-Tillman.
Two brothers preceded him in death: J Edward and Percy Brown.
Special friends who became family, Danny Tetter, Mae Hi Ong, and Gene Jones.
