It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John "John Eddie" Edwin Cass of Wakefield, on February 6, 2024.
John Eddie was born October 19, 1944 and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Ann Joyner Cass, to whom he was devoted throughout their long-lasting 59 years of marriage. His memory will also be kept alive by his loving sons, (USMC Sgt.) Mark Spencer Cass and Donald Matthew Cass (Sarah Elizabeth Cass).
John Eddie took great pride in his grandchildren, Laura Ann Cass (Tyler Colby O'Neill) and Thomas James Cass. He also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren, Addison Elizabeth, Nathaniel Lee, Cora Lorene Elizabeth, and Reagan Delaney who were the absolute light of his life.
John Eddie has been reunited with those who passed before him, including his father Jack Cass, and his mother Anna Bates Cass. He also joins his siblings, Grace Lorene Cass Lanier, (MM1) James Winford Cass, and Thomas Lee Cass in eternal rest.
John Eddie was the definition of a "good ole boy", and his legacy will continue to live on through his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on with those he left behind.
