John's obituary

John Dulane Carvin (12/25/1951- 06/27/2024) passed away Thursday morning in his home in Reisterstown, MD due to complications of a stroke.

In November of 1991, John and Melinda adopted 22-month-old Christina from Haiti

In the Spring of 1994 John, Melinda, and Christina relocated to Westminster, MD. John would spend the next 30 years until his passing in Maryland.

He is predeceased by his father Ernest Edward Carvin and his mother Leola Jean Carvin. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 42 years Melinda Carvin (née Petrie) and his daughters Zarrakan Yue “Zarra” Carvin and Christina Marie Carvin as well as older sister Vikki McAniff, and Step-Mother Rita Carvin. In his life John enjoyed music, worshiping at church, and spending time with his wife and daughters.

John an 11-year stroke survivor John loved the Baltimore sports teams, cooking, playing guitar, piano, and drums, and enjoyed his years as a Sunday School teacher. John also enjoyed watching murder mysteries and Star Trek, reading his Bible, and singing. John made himself available to help others and was famous for bringing home people needing assistance. He was a staunch protector who loved his wife and daughters. John was proud of his faith and was a born-again Christian. John was loved by all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed.
