John passed away on May 31st, 2023 in Sacramento, California. He was born in Redding, California on November 11, 1964. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. John will be tremendously missed by all who knew him. 

John thrived in his career as a General Contractor finding fulfillment in accomplishing any and all tasks he was presented with. Additionally, he intertwined his career with structural pest inspections for the state of California along with rental housing inspections. 

Although John was not affiliated with any particular church denomination, he was a born again Christian who considered his daily communing with God to be the ultimate relationship for all believers. 

John enjoyed snow skiing, riding motorcycles and classic cars and was in the process of restoring a 1927 Bugatti at the time of his passing. His heart and soul however, was passionately relating life’s moments to the beats of classic rock. 

John leaves behind his wife Holly Capp, daughter Kimberly, son-in-law Freddy Silva, seven month old grandson Atlas Ezra, parents Sally Capp, Gary and Donna Coopersmith, brother Daniel Capp and sisters Pamm Knight and Linda (Greg) Rathbun. He was also blessed with a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 Being a grandpa to Atlas was undoubtedly the most exhilarating, uplifting and joyful experience of John’s entire life. Sadly, John’s father Dave Capp passed away only two months before him on April 6, 2023 before John too was also ushered home to the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father. Additionally, throughout the years John endured the heartbreaking losses of his brothers Raymond Capp, Michael Knight and sister Brooke Knight. John’s farewell celebration will be hosted at the home of Sally Capp in Redding, California on July 15, 2023.
