John's obituary
John was preceded in death by his father Jonny Cabell and mother Jessie Cabell. Survived by his Daughter Jennifer Cabell, and two Grandkids Kadence Cabell and Ian Cabell.
As a young boy at the age of 12 John showed horses professionally. He competed from Lexington Ky all the way to California winning many ribbons and metals placing 1st against grown adults.
He was always an outdoorsman and as an adult he loved being in the wilderness. He always loved going camping, fishing in the mountains, and just really being outdoors. He loved taking his grandson on hikes and teaching him how to hunt. He would always help his granddaughter with her deer she killed and just tickled him that she loved to hunt. He loved to garden both vegetables and flowers. He loved spending time with his daughter, he was always buying her flowers for them to plant together at her home.
John was an electrician with the IBEW Local for 30 some years until he was disabled and retired with the company. He always worked to make sure his family was taken care of.
John was a great person who always helped others. He would always put others before himself and never asked for anything in return. He was the kind of man that wouldn’t accept anything from you if you did try to repay him. It made him happy seeing others happy.
He was a dedicated father and even more dedicated grandfather. He really loved his family and lived for them. He went without so many times to buy his grandchildren things, making them smile was his happiness. The last few years of his life up to his death he spent time with his daughter and grandkids. He was always at her house helping her fix it up. He’d even go mow her grass every week so it would be one less thing she had to do. His happiness was his family.
