John's obituary

On Sunday, January 10, 2021, John L. Byers, 69, of Excelsior Springs passed away. John was loving husband and father of 2 children. John was born in Vincennes, Indiana, on January 18, 1951 to Wilbert Charles “Junior” and Berniece Josephine (Rewalt) Byers. He graduated from Washington High School (Kansas City, KS) in 1969. Working as a millwright and truck driver much of his career and was a friend to many. On April 28, 1979, he married Marquita Waterman. John enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, watching racing, and spending time with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Byers, his mother, Berniece Byers; his siblings Henry Byers, and Mary Alice (Joe) Waxmonski. He is survived by his wife Marquita Byers; brother Fred (Dena) Byers; two children, Tracey (Mark) McMahon and Buck (Jill) Byers; 6 grandchildren, Josh, Zach, Austin, Jackson, Amelia, and Cooper. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
