John's obituary

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

John Anthony Buehner II, 79, of Westland, MI, was called home to be with the Lord on May 2nd 2025. Born on October 9th 1945 in Detroit, MI, he was a devoted husband to Marguerite Buehner and a loving father to John Buehner III and Adam Buehner.

John grew up in Detroit, MI and had a calling to religion. He attended the seminary and graduated with a Masters in Theology. In 1972, John was ordained a priest, and would continue in that profession until 1979 when he married Marge. John was hard-working and dedicated. He spent years working as a finance director for Saint Vincent Sarah Fisher Center in Farmington Hills. John would also continue his religious background with helping in the Religious Education Department at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne, MI, and also was the head of the Adult Religious Education Department. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

John's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed church, lawn care, and golf, often spending his weekends making sure his grass was in pristine condition. His love for lawncare and religion was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; sons, John (Emily) and Adam (Maria); granddaughters, Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Eve; brother Ray; as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Helen, as well as his brother Charles.

A visitation service will be held on May 5th 2025 from 2pm to 8pm, with a praying of the rosary at 7pm. A funeral service will be held on May 6th 2025 at 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Solanus Casey Center (https://www.solanuscasey.org/…)

We find comfort in knowing that John's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

Psalm 91:11 “For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.”
