Too many fun times with dad. He was the most boyish and fun loving person I know. When I was a child we used to hold hands and skip together. He used to put me on his bike and take me to 711. Endless days at Buccaneer Beach in Oceanside, of course the Oceanside Pier, and Baskin Robbins (he called it "31 Slobbers"). As I got older, he introduced me to exotic foods and sophisticated restaurants, tricking me into eating sushi. I loved it! Being with him was ALWAYS fun.
Grandpa John‘s first time meeting Poppy Jeanne. We took him to Denny’s for breakfast. We had many more breakfast dates planned ahead, but this would be our last one together.
“His intelligence. Smarter than most people I’ve ever met. People like to think they’re the smartest person in the room- he was.” (From Stephen, his son in law).
So sorry to hear this. I lost track of John years ago. He was a great friend and a supporter of my band. Love you John, always have, always will. My condolences to the family. Brad
My favorite memory of my beloved father-in-law is when I called him to ask his permission to marry his daughter. I had barely finished asking when he excitedly gave me his blessing. He later told Michelle he thought that was a classy move.
My next favorite memory is when I introduced him for the first time to his granddaughter Poppy. He stood in awe while staring at our beautiful baby. We miss you so much, Grandpa
