Background
John was an animal lover throughout his life. His pets were dear to him, but he also enjoyed interacting with the wildlife on his acreage. Feeding the birds was part of his daily routine, as well as watching the deer and other wildlife. He even nursed a baby hawk that was separated from its mother to adulthood. Animals were very dear to him and a part of his daily life.
