I've known John my whole life, growing up in Murray in the old Murray 9th Ward, until they split it and John went to the 20th Ward.  We went to elementary school together at McMillian, but then they built Parkside and he went there.  Then Jr. High and High School as well as our summer job together at Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation together.  Then football in high school. Unfortunately, I haven't seen John but a couple of times since we got back from our missions.  He was a good man and a great friend back in those days.  We had a lot of fun needling each other over the years. All in good fun. I always respected John. He was a big man with a big heart.
I just watched the livestream of the service and it was a beautifully heartfelt, and wonderfully touching tribute to a kind and giving soul. May each of you find comfort and peace as you grieve this immense loss. And may you be forever watched over by a very bright and warm new star in the sky. I'm an Uncle of Kent and Tori, and brother to Kent's mother Janet. Much love and big hugs to you all.

Becky, we were so incredibly sad to hear the news about John.  We know he will be missed by all, as he was such a wonderful guy. You, your family and John are in our prayers.

We love you and miss you,

Kathy and Marty Schaffer

John and Becky have been our dear friends for over 35 years and we have traveled several places together, most recently to the Mediterranean! We will miss you dearly, John! Love you both so much!
I am brokenhearted!! John was the best home teacher and friend.

Becky, We know you are so broken hearted with him passing to the other side. My husband is Janet’s sister. We never got to meet either of you, but we absolutely love and adore Tori. Kent was certainly blessed with marrying her. We have been praying for love and comfort and peace for you. (My brother recently was murdered, so I understand how the suddenness is so jarring)

Love,

Uncle Mark and Aunt Lisa

Dear Becky and family,

The first time I met John was when he was doing service for a neighbor just this past summer.  He was so pleasant and complimentary of my kids who were also helping.  He was a gentle giant.   May you feel our Heavenly Father watch over your during this time of loss and deep sorrow.

Dear Becky, Shane and I are deeply saddened to hear of John’s passing.  Our love and prayers are with you are this very difficult time!

My heart absolutely broke when I heard of this immense loss. John made me feel like family, and was always so kind and incredibly welcoming to me. I have and will miss him ❤️ When my uncle passed away, John comforted me and told me that I could think of him as my uncle. He was so gracious to me.

He always spoke very highly of Becky, and after meeting her I could see why he adored her so much. He was also very loving and proud of his kids and their families. Tori, he thought the world of you!

He will always have a special place in my heart. My prayers are with Becky, Tori, and the rest of your wonderful family. May God give your family strength and peace in this most difficult time

Becky, you and your family are certainly in our prayers. We love you and the association we have had with you and John over the years.
Becky our hearts are just broken for you and your family, you are in our thoughts and prayers, we love you so much!

So sorry for your loss Becky, Tara and family. You are so loved. I loved John’s big smile and how much he loved his family and his grandkids. Definitely something to aspire to. Love to you all at this time ❤️
John is a great man and will be missed until we can see him again. I’ll always be grateful for him teaching my kids the gospel of Jesus Christ in Sunday School. Prayers and love to the Bradshaw family.
So sorry to hear about this Tara and family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time.♥️
So sorry for you and your family's loss Becky.  We were blessed to have met the two of you. You're in our thoughts and prayers.❤🙏
My deepest condolences to John's family and especially Becky.  I first met John when I started working at Revive. He helped me get through a very tough time in my life to which I am forever grateful for! But among that John was the type of person who would always be there for you no matter what. He gave some of the best advice and sometimes the funniest advice. John was a kind soul who loved helping people. He is dearly missed by my family and I, and will never be forgotten.
