Background
Many of you have been asking if there's something to which you could give in my father's name, so I'd like to share a dream of his that you could definitely help me fulfill.
Awosting is a place many of you have visited, and will be visiting this June. Here my father will be buried next to my mother and brothers near the waterfall. My father often talked about adding a Totem Pole at Awosting, and I think there would be no better way to memorialize him than in this Native American symbolic art form. Totem Poles are a way that Native American tribes displayed a family or individual's history, lineage, and culture. With Awosting playing such an important role in our family's culture, I believe this will be a beautiful way to commemorate his life and many loves. It will include several animals that represent the members of our family:
An Eagle, representing my fathers love for the intelligent, regal bird along with his Eagle Scout achievement,
A Tiger, representing his second favorite animal, and Princeton, which he loved so much,
An Otter - My mothers favorite animal,
Twin Snakes - Representing David and Philip and their favorite animal
A Black Headed Caique - My father believed my Mother was reincarnated in this Bird, and he was cremated with Max, and it became the original logo for my company, so represents his daughter Camilla as well
A Cheetah - for his Grandson and namesake, Jack - This is Jack's spirit animal
A Bear - for his Grandson Boe - This is Boe's Spirit animal
Additionally, My father devoted a lot of time and love coming up with ways for people to creatively honor their loved ones in NYC with his Fund for Trees. I will be adding a plaque in his honor to the trees in front of the Knickerbocker Club to complete the Bradley family memorial in front of one of the places he loved most.
I have set up this site for those of you interested in helping me fund these memorials in honor of my Father. Thank you so much for being a part of our lives. (And I welcome you all back to see JAB's Totem Pole upon completion)!
Much love,
