John Ray Blamer, 73, of Cocoa, FL, passed away on July 28, 2023. Born on March 23, 1950, John was a kind and caring individual known as a gentle giant by those who knew him best.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Terrie Blamer, his children by marriage, Christy Siegrist and Matt Jackson, his son-in-law Tim Siegrist, his daughter-in-law Jenn Jackson, his grandsons Xander and Devin, and his granddaughter Makena. He is also survived by his brother Rick Blamer and sister-in-law Kim Blamer. John was preceded in death by his father Homer Blamer, his mother Doris Blamer, and his sister Becky Urdock.

John was born in Columbus, Ohio and lived in Johnstown, Ohio until 1966, when he moved to Titusville, Florida. John attended Johnstown High School, Titusville High School and Brevard Community College. After working in pest control for several years, he started his own successful company in 1999, Brevard Bugmaster Pest Control, and eventually became lovingly referred to as “John the Bug Man.”

John had various hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed working out in the gym, lifting weights, and maintaining his physical fitness. He also found peace in cutting the grass with his lawn tractor, spending time in his backyard with his Labrador Retriever, and hiking trails in the Smoky Mountains. He enjoyed the time spent with his customers who became his friends. John treasured the quiet evenings at home with his wife. He adored his children and grandchildren and cherished every moment he spent with them. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A gathering to celebrate John's life will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at 3:00 pm at the Lost Lakes Clubhouse, 140 Lost Lake Dr., Cocoa, FL 32926. We will be sharing some of our favorite stories, our memories, to laugh, to cry and to remember such a wonderful person. All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, honorary donations to a favorite charity, and cards are welcome.
