This is one of the saddest days of my life. Heaven has gained a special angel but the loss on earth is great. The world was a better place with Jack Blackert in it. His kindness touched so many lives and his beautiful spirit will remain in our hearts forever. I have such fond memories of my teenage years at Blackert's Farm in Webster, nearly 45 years ago. There was no where else on earth I would have rather spent time, whether it was equestrian lessons, feeding the horses, loading hay bales in the loft, trail riding, bridleless/saddleless exhibitions, participating in horse shows around the state, or simply hanging out at the farm on weekends! Even at a young age I realized that Jack played a critical role in the success and operation of Blackert's Farm, as he was constantly fixing, repairing, renovating, expanding the barn, riding arenas and surrounding pastures... I don't think there was a handyman project he didn't know how to complete! On weekends when he wasn't making repairs or additions to the barn and riding arenas, he was driving RV's and horse trailers to shows in Syracuse, Hamburg, and around the region! All of this must have amounted to a tremendous amount of work, but Jack's devotion, dedication and work ethic enabled those of us who were fortunate to be associated with Blackert's Farm to lead idyllic teenage lives. These joyful memories will remain in my heart for a lifetime.
When Jack and Carol sold the horse farm and moved on to the next phase of their lives, they never lost their sense of adventure ~ traveling around the country & viewing spectacular vistas from their RV, and in moving to Jupiter, Florida, they officially traded 'life on the farm' for 'life on the water'. The boating stories and experiences they encountered while navigating waterways throughout the Eastern United States are unbelievably hair-raising and thrilling! They lived life to its fullest and one thing I'll always remember is their overwhelming kindness. Jack taught me that a little kindness goes a long way, and to this day I try to 'pay it forward' as I saw Jack do to others. I never heard Jack utter a negative word about anyone and he was a man of deep faith. He was known for his integrity, his love of family, and his faith in God. Surely he is among the angels in heaven but he will be greatly missed on earth. Godspeed, our precious Jack. Your life was a light in our lives...

I'm so sorry to here of Jack's passing. He was a great guy. My parents thought alot of Jack. Jack was always here for us when our parents passed.
We have great memories of Jack.
My family enjoyed our trip to Jupiter with such great hosts.

I think I have tried to write this 5 or 6 times and still can't get it right because what can you say about one of your very best friends who has now left this earth? Bob and I met Jack and Carol over 25 years ago, through boating. As a couple, and individually, we just clicked. Over the years, we have remained such fast friends! We boated together, we traveled everywhere together on Jack's RV, we "tried" to play tennis together, we got towed back from the Bahamas together, we lost Jack in Redwood National Forest (but finally found him), we ate, laughed, aged, and supported each other through all of life's joys and disappointments. I loved watching Bob and Jack tackle and conquer difficult engineering projects. Two logical minds working in tandem! Jack's take on business matters was always right on point ……. a practical man with always a positive outlook on life. He enjoyed the present but always planned for the future. People always wondered how we could travel for weeks in such close quarters, on an RV. "One butt kitchens" were never an issue...…...we had the time of our lives together and never was there anything but joy and happiness during our travels! Never once during those years did I ever hear Jack say one negative thing about anyone. He was the real deal...…...a class individual. We have been so honored to have Jack as a friend and will miss him so much. Our condolences to Carol and Jim and the whole family. Love...….Lisa and Bob Berger
