Karen, I saw a listing on Facebook for your home in Crested Butte and was going to send a note to John via Messenger. When I got to his page, I obviously saw condolences and was shocked, to say the least. I don't know what to say-there are no words to ease the void John leaves in your life. While people often complain about platforms like Facebook, it gave me the chance to know John and you, which I consider a blessing despite the years and miles between us. We only met in person one time, but I loved following John's daily posts and your cherished visits to Crested Butte. What a legacy and treasured history in that town. John and I started corresponding on Facebook after some photos were posted from my mother's childhood in CB. I think I sent some photos and a book my mother wrote about her family and their life in CB. Anyways, please know I am so very, very sorry for his passing. What a light and joy he brought to the world. Hugs from Boise. xoxo

I’ve worked for John for only two years now, but it didn’t take long to see what a good man he was. John always had a great attitude and a very humble outlook on life, willing to help at any time.
He fought hard to survive during this battle and had a positive spirit that never wavered, even through the toughest days. His strength and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
I will continue to pray that he is in Heaven, as well as praying for his wife and family during this difficult time. May God bring you comfort and peace.
With deepest sympathy,
Greg Collins

John was 12 when he came into Fred's life and they had many great adventures over the years. The Bierys will always be considered our family. Karen's strength over the last few months has been amazing. We will miss John terribly, and will continue to keep Karen, Shane and Jess in our prayers. All our love, Fred & Mari Hamilton
