John's obituary
John Wayne Beston, "Johnny", "Papa", "Pops" passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 1, 2024, at the age of 71. He was born on August 3, 1952, to Nellie Jane Aldaffer and Thomas William Beston. John married Becky Palko in 1981. He knew Becky was "the one" when she cold-clocked a guy for being mean to him.
The gears in John's brain were always moving. He was a mechanic, a builder, and an inventor. He was the second to youngest of his 10 siblings, who he said lovingly referred to him as "Mr. Peabody" because of his creative ability to fix things. He claimed to have come up with ideas for things like "My Little Pony", low-rider bikes, and an exercise bike designed to power the TV. John loved a good prank and a raunchy joke. Laughter was his remedy for everything. John also loved music, often cranking it up and singing along loudly. John loved nature. Camping in the mountains, and sleeping under the stars next to the campfire was his heaven on Earth. He couldn't get enough of spicy food, the hotter the better. He perfected the art of making his delicious green chili.
John adored his children and grandbabies and would spend hours wrestling, playing hide and seek, playing games, or going for walks with each one of his "babies".
John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky; his 4 children, Deric, Natalie, Karla, and Michelle and his son-in-law Mike; his 7 grandchildren, Kyle, Bradley, Anna, Rosalena, Luma, Tino, and Alex; his 3 great-grandchildren, Ares, Connor, and Hendrix; his siblings Larry(Shirley), Dennis(Beverly), Gary(Sarah), Jim, and his sister-in-law Vangie.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Thomas, and his siblings Thomas, Bill, Bob, Dickie, Darlene, and Beverly.
John's ashes will be spread at this favorite place on Earth, Walden, CO later this year.
