Never missed work
2013, University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO, USA
Never missed work — with College Staff
John always was ready to help anybody. He had an incredibly great sense of humor. He loved parody popular songs and sing them as loud as he could. He never held a grudge and he was always a fun person to be with. Very caring person, a very good friend, a wonderful person to be with. He will be missed by a lot of people.

I have known John for about 15 years, we worked together and we quickly became friends,  which always seemed to be so easy for him.  We would bond over my VW bus that i would drive to work daily - when it started.  He has saved me several times when it didn't start and bang on it for me when I didn't have the courage.   HE and Becky even had me over a few times for meals when I was feeling lost or lonely during the holidays.  John became a father figure to me over the years and even when I moved to Fort Collins, we still kept in touch and gabbed about cars or i stopped to say hi if he was in the area for work.  Most of all, he always talked about how much he loved his family and how he would not be the amazing  and hilarious person he was without them.

I literally just found out about his passing yesterday after he didnt answer my text.  Sending so much love to all of you and hope you can all smile when you think back on all the great time you had with him.

I was asked to share what what he taught me..

He showed me how to fish. Not just tie my line but to read a river. He showed me how to set up camp, 9 or 10 years old he'd send me into the forest to gather firewood.  Then the campfire Chilli!

He also taught me to keep an eye on my sister Karla as she was super allergic to mosquitoe bites. He tought me to protect my sisters regardless.  I did my best!

He taught me that that was what life is about, being in the woods and surviving,  and he showed us that it could be done. So many beautiful memories.

He was my best friend for 37 years,  if I needed something, he was there and vice versa.

In my adult life we had some terrible camping trips, got hailed on a few times. Epic rain storms causing mudslides so we couldn't get home lol, but we always made the best of it!

He is the reason I am who I am! That can be good and some say not so much, but I'm proud to be John Bestons son!

May God bless him. And may God bless his kind hearted wife as well as his beautiful children. John was always like a hero to me. He could play the guitar sing mustang sally fix a car truck or tractor. Have a barbecue laugh until you just had to join in. Worked for everything he owned. He was a great uncle! He loved Becky with all his heart.  I left Colorado before his daughters were born. But I’m sure he loved them as much as he did Deric. He was a Good man. I talked with him a few months ago and he said his hands would cramp up  Then I heard the pain was crazy. Good people are hard to find. And now it just got harder. Please accept him Lord Jesus Christ. My love to his entire family.

My condolences to John's family. There are a lot of good memories of my brother in law John. I remember him as a good father and husband and he loved being outdoors especially camping and fishing. May he rest in peace and reunite with his loved ones in heaven~ Beverly and Dennis Beston
