John's obituary

In Loving Memory of Dad, the Fisherman.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, John David Bechtold, on January 16, 2024, at the age of 79.

Dad was a loving father of 5 children, a friend to almost everyone he met, and a passionate fisherman who touched the lives of all who knew him. Beyond his love for fishing, Dad was a pillar of strength and support for his family and friends. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering guidance will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dad leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and will continue to inspire us for generations to come. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever live on in the memories we shared and the lessons he taught us.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Margaret Bechtold, his brother, Tommy Bechtold, and several loving aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children, Greg Bechtold, Todd O’Hara, Angel Bechtold, Kara Parson, and Lindy Couture, as well as 10 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids.

Rest in peace, Dad. You will always be remembered and cherished in our hearts.

A celebration of Dad’s life will be held at a later date, where we will gather to honor and remember a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to StJude.org in memory of Dad.

Please share all of your wonderful memories of Dad. We would love to hear them!
