It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John "Jack" Barthorpe. Born on August 8, 1950, Jack passed away on December 13, 2023, surrounded by the love of his children, leaving a rich tapestry of life marked by love, humor, and dedication.
Remembered lovingly by those who knew him as Jack, he was a man replete with wit and humor. His ability to bring laughter to any situation was a testament to his spirit and charisma. Jack was a man who loved music, playing accordion, finding solace in the songs of Harry Hibbs, Hank Williams, and Stomping Tom. He was also an admirer of nature's beauty, often escaping to the picturesque landscapes of Newfoundland, one of his favorite vacation spots.
Above all, Jack was a family man. He was a beacon of strength and guidance to his three children - daughter Billi-jo Perrow (Dan), son John Barthorpe (Louise), and daughter Sherry Talbot (Jim). Grandchildren Chris (Coby), Steve, Susie, and Val. Great Grandchildren Jack, James, Violet, Caleb, Emerson, Octavia, and Crüe. His greatest accomplishment and joy were his children, who he deeply cherished. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Susie Barthorpe, whose memory he held close to his heart.
Jack deeply cared about his family, teaching all those around him the importance of family bonds. He was a firm believer in perseverance and he instilled this lesson in both his personal and professional life. He persisted and thrived, leaving behind an indelible legacy that his children and all those who knew him will remember.
