My sincere condolences to the family of Joe. Back when I started working at the Rivers Edge Road Course in Mission in 2003, Joe was one of the first people to introduce himself to me and welcome me to the Race Track. He would no doubt share some detailed piece of info about a car or driver if we were walking together through the Paddock. The man was a wealth of info about all things racing. He retained so much info in his brain, but his heart was large for the sport. Always a smile on his face and ready for a handshake or kind word.
Someone told me once that Joe was the historian of META and the BC Racing and I would say from my interactions that was true.
Joe, may your clothes we white and the corners clear.
You will be missed.

I was introduced to Joe when he first was interested in Westwood Race Track in Coquitlam. We both were interested in the sports car racing and being a corner worker at the track..
Joe would come to Vancouver to pick me up in his red datsun 510. He so loved that car.. so we could both enjoy the sport and work together being corner workers at Deers Leap area. We would go to the Clubhouse (located at turn 2 ) for a beer and cheese burger after each end of the day.
Joe was such a sweet and understanding man... we had many a great conversation and laugh when together.
He will be missed.
