Life Reflections
Joe Middlebrooks was born July 08, 1945, in Ocilla Georgia to the late Gilbert Middlebrooks and the late Blanche Middlebrooks.
On June 19, 1963, he graduated from Ocilla High and Industrial School, located in Georgia. He became part of the Great Migration as he pursued a new life in San Francisco, California with his late brother Rhubinell Middlebrooks and his late wife Rubye Lea Davis-Middlebrooks. He married his high school sweetheart who bared his daughters; Sonya Middlebrooks, Carise Middlebrooks (Harston). He pursued a career in Environmental Services and Management and later he owned his own janitorial business.
Joe met the love of his life, Irma Lee Middlebrooks who he share his life with. Irma Lee had two daughters Demetris Lewis/May, (decease child)Tonya Lewis and later adopted a son Lamar Middlebrooks.

Joe was survived by Willie Mae Anderson, Evelyn Harris, Glenda Walker & Willie Fred Walker. Daughters: Sonya Middlebrooks, Ana Carise Harston, Lamar Middlebrooks, step-daughter: Demetris May and Son-in-law Evans May II.
Grandchildren: Domoneque Harston, Alonzo Reed, Evans May III, Ellis Harston, Joshua Reed, Devans May, Dontae May
Great grands: Ishmael Jimenez-Harston, Aliehs Dream Middlebrooks, Bailey Evans, Isaiah Lee-Harston, May IV, Daneen Benson-Harston, Alonzo Reed Jr.
He leaves a hosts of cousins, nieces and nephews and church members in sorrow.

A Time to Rest
Joe told his daughters Sonya and Ana Carise, God had forfilled his wishes to spend time with them and his grandchildren. He put forth a strong battle with cancer while living in Oakley California.
On February 10, 2025, God embraced him and gave him his wings. He knew it was time, he share with his daughter Sonya’ “Baby I am Dying” and took his last three breaths
