I graduated from High school with Joe. I worked with him over the summer during college at a broom factory and he was always smiling and enjoying life even during the hot summer conditions in the factory. We would share laughs and keep each other amused..RIP My friend,,I will miss you 😔

My condolences to Joe's family. I first met Joe in first grade and we would often play together at each other’s house on Saturdays. I remember when Joe first started drawling it was snoopy, Charlie brown and the rest of the peanuts gang. Both of us were into comic books at that time. We both graduated from LC in ‘81. We spoke on the phone a few years ago it was great to catch up. He brought up one memory of me having the first Batman comic book. He wanted to know if I still had it. Joe was always a happy guy. I’ve never seen him pissed off. His smile was contagious for sure. Glad to know you. I’m gonna miss you my friend.

Joe parting with books from his collection for the 100th time. He dropped this off to me at my place on Thursday 9/14 while he was out on his late night walk. When we lived together, he always made it a point to remind me that “Lil’ Orphan Annie” was his and Chester’s favorite strip and that it was the best strip of all time.

A beautiful strip that Joe drew for me shortly after my two dogs passed away from old age. He drew this on the front endpapers of Peter Blegvad’s “The Book of Leviathan”. ♥️

Joe loved old books. I told him that I once found boogers inside of an old book from the library and he surprised me with this. This book is called “WALLY the WORDWORM”. “The Westlake Book” was already stamped in there and Joe drew everything else. His talent always astounded me.
