Joe Licata, born 9-9-1941 passed away on 9-18-2019 in Leesburg Florida. Joe was a loving father and avid outdoorsman.
Born and raised in Tampa Florida, Joe had an unwavering love for nature. He found solace and joy in exploring the great outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, horseback riding or being in the beauty of the country. He was a Jack of all trades and opened many businesses in Tampa Florida.
Later in life, Joe's passion for cuban food led him to open the renowned Latin Café in Leesburg, Florida. His specialty was serving delicious food with no nonsense. Joe didn’t suffer fools easily but those that know him know he was more bark than bite.
Joe possessed an innate ability to fix anything that crossed his path. Whether it was a broken appliance, a malfunctioning car, or a leaky faucet, Joe's resourcefulness and handyman skills knew no bounds. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends using his self taught skills to solve problems.
Travel was another great passion of Joe's. He had an insatiable curiosity to see nature and a desire to explore the USA. When asked if he would like to travel abroad, he would say there’s too many great places to see first here in America.
Joe is survived by his sons, Joe Jr. and Sam, as well as a wide circle of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
