Joy's obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jocelyn Meneses Angeles, 81, of Bakersfield, CA, who left us on March 12, 2022.

Jocelyn, was born on February 2, 1941 to Jaime Luis B. Meneses and Aurelia Meneses-Anden. She graduated from Centro Escobar University in Manila, Philippines on April 24, 1964 where she received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Botany. Other achievements include a Standard Teaching Credential from the state of California in 1972. On September 5, 1964, she married Anselmo Jose Angeles and that union led to their three sons. She worked as a Medical Technologist for Mercy Hospital (Bakersfield, CA) from 1973 to 2003.

She is most remembered as one who brought joy and laughter to all who surrounded her. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, cross stitching, spending time with her many friends and caring for the many house plants that always filled her home. Moreover, she was a dedicated mom to all of her children, raising three boys who went on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to her; a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill; however, our family is grateful to know that our mother is in Heavenly peace.

Jocelyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her three sons Joel Angeles of Moorpark, CA; Joey Angeles and wife Eva of Bakersfield CA; Jeo Angeles and wife Erin of Fresno CA; grandchildren Kayla Lynn Angeles and husband Sebastian Reyes of Fresno CA; Brittney Marie Angeles of Fresno, CA; Faith Saray Angeles of Bakersfield CA; Brendon of Fresno CA; great-grandsons Santiago and Leo Reyes of Fresno CA; and her pet dog “Pickles.”

The family requests that all flowers and notes be carried out through Greenlawn Funeral Homes (greenlawnmortuaryandcemetery.…) A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8 at 2:00PM, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9915 Ramos Avenue, Bakersfield CA; followed by a celebration of life at 11809 Palm Ave, Bakersfield CA.
