Joann was an exceptional human being and I was proud to call her my friend. We protested together against puppy mills and became fast friends. Her laugh was contagious, she was selfless, and gave great advice. I’m so very sorry for this loss. I know she is with her husband and her many animals who went before. Rest peacefully Joann - I will keep fighting for us both ❤️🙏

I was devastated when I heard the news of JoAnn's passing as well as Bob's. We lost touch for a few years. She was a wonderful friend for many, many years. I remember their beautiful wedding and I have a lot of fond memories with her.

I am beyond devastated to learn of JoAnn’s passing. JoAnn was the first therapist I had ever met with and boy was I lucky to find her on the first shot. She helped me get through a very traumatic time in my life back in 2016 and I don’t see how I could have made it through without her. I learned so much about myself during our time together and she helped me gain the courage to apply to nursing school and revamp my whole life. Although I graduated from her weekly sessions to “call me if you need me,” it was such a comfort to know she was there in case that need were to arise. I reached out to her again in 2019 when I was grieving my beloved dog. I knew there was nobody that would understand my sorrow more than JoAnn. We connected on a level beyond therapist and patient due to our mutual love of animals and strong feelings towards puppy mills, animal rights, etc. When I adopted my current dog Trixie back in 2020, JoAnn was one of the first people I wanted to reach out to, I knew she would share in my joy. I am sad for her family, friends, patients, and for the animals she fought so hard for. We desperately need more people like JoAnn in this world and it was a better place with her in it. 💔
