Joan's obituary

Joan Marie Smith, 68, of Carpentersville, IL departed this earth on 1/16/20. Born on 10/3/51 in Jacksonville, FL to Lois and Johnny Carpenter. A loving mother of two daughters Debra Temple and Tracie Scafuri. Joan truly lived life to the fullest with the simplest of pleasures, spending time with her family and furry kids. Her zest for life was only out shined by her love of family. Joan worked in the service industry, enjoying the relationships developed with her patrons. A very giving individual who always was willing to give even if meant she would do without. She is survived by two sisters Joyce and Linda (both in Jacksonville, FL), two daughters Debra Temple and Tracie Scafuri, four grandchildren Zachary, Jacob, Brandon and Miranda and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday 1/25/20 in Marengo, IL in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, a cause close to Joan's heart. Donations can made by clicking the following link.
