Joan Hannah Pies was born January 17, 1947, to Homer and Hannah (Halvorson) Pies in Brainerd, MN. She attended and graduated from Pequot Lakes School. She continued her education with attendance of beauty school where she she became a hair dresser. She was employed for several years at the Butcher Block and the VFW of Pequot Lakes as well as doing some freelance work as a merchandiser for companies like Philip Morris. In later years, …

Joan's Celebration of Life is Still being planned. She expressed her wishes to not have anything big, however, she also understood that family and friends would need a chance to say their goodbyes. Since she did participate in a medical study through the U of M, her memorial will occur once she has come home for it. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
