Joan Ellen Padilla, 68, of Tampa, FL, passed away on May 10, 2024 after losing her battle with lung cancer. She was a talented stained-glass artist and a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Joan was known for her vibrant personality and love for her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Bryan David Padilla, granddaughters Jacqueline and Charlotte Padilla, sisters Jamie Bell and Patti Sole and brother Tom Myers. Joan was preceded in death by her mother, LoNah Jane Myers, father James Myers, grandparents Ver and Naomi Myers, Guy and Jo Johnson.

Joan attended Manzano High School in Albuquerque, NM and went on to own and operate A Fantasy in Glass in Tampa, FL. She was a dedicated artist who found joy in creating beautiful stained-glass pieces. In her free time, Joan enjoyed spending time with her cats, creating art, playing Scrabble, listening to music and spending time with friends.

A celebration of life will be held in Tampa and Albuquerque at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any charity supporting cancer research.

Rest in peace, Joan. Your creativity and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew you.
