Obituary for Joan C. Mullins

Joan C. Mullins, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her Bluffton, South Carolina home on her 88th birthday, November 3. Known for her many talents as an artist and writer, Joan inspired those around her with her creativity and advocacy for justice. Her warmth and kindness made her a treasured member of her Sun City community, where her friendships were deeply valued, and her presence will be greatly missed.

Joan is survived by her loving children, Patricia Ametrano, Lenny, and Donna James, her brother and sister-in-law Ronald Pollard and Patricia Pollard, as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She now joins in heaven her dear husband, Thomas Mullins Sr., and their beloved son, Thomas Mullins Jr., who both preceded her in passing. Joan’s legacy of love, art, and advocacy lives on through her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be hosted at her home on Sunday, November 17. Immediate family and close personal friends are invited to join the family between 1:00 and 3:00 pm to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause close to Joan’s heart.
