Joan Elizabeth (St. John) McGrady of Ludlow, age 81, passed away on December 9, 2024. Joan was born on November 19, 1943, a daughter of her late parents, David and Leona (Sorrell) St. John. She was a lifelong resident of Ludlow, graduating from Ludlow High School and was a member of St. John the Baptist. In 1973 Joan married the love of her life, John Patrick McGrady Jr. and they remained married for 41 years until John’s passing in 2014. Joan made friends everywhere she worked over the years: Two Guys, St. Johnsbury, DDI, and Mass Mutual. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and word search puzzles. Joan was predeceased by her parents and her husband, as well as her brothers Donald and Kenneth St. John and her sisters Charlene St. John and Barbara Nevue. She is survived by her daughter Darcie Reid and her husband Jamaal Reid, her sisters Shirley and Cynthia St. John, sisters-in-law Nancy and Donna St. John, and two grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ratell Funeral Home at 200 Main Street, Indian Orchard. Visitation will continue at Ratell on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Home Service beginning at 10:00 AM. Rites of Committal will follow at Island Pond Cemetery on Center Street in Ludlow.
