Joan's obituary

Joan Agnes Mamaril, 86, of Las Vegas, Nevada , passed away on July 29th 2021 after a long  battle with heart disease. Joan was born on March 11th, 1935 to Andrew Polashock and Agnes Miller in Jersey City, New Jersey. After high school graduation, she landed her first job as a administrative assistant for Irving Trust. Later on at the age of 19, she devoted her life to Christ as a Catholic nun in convents in upstate New York, Indiana, Chicago, and Southern California for the next 15 years. In 1972, she met Florencio D. Mamaril , and they wed in 1973, going on to have two children, Florencio “Nick” Mamaril and Dawn Marie Mamaril .

When Joan had Nick, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Joan  excelled at propping up her children  and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting Dawn through personal hardships or supporting Nick through art, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Joan was a passionate  about volunteering when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her church or the bishop’s storehouse . We will miss her greatly. Joan was predeceased by her late husband Florencio D. Mamaril, stepson Florencio Mamaril Jr., and brother Andrew E. Polashock . She is survived by her son Florencio N. Mamaril, daughter Dawn Marie Mamaril, and grandson Aiden J. Mamaril. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to 4250 Arville Street apt 50 Las Vegas, Nevada 89103.
