It is with heavy hearts that we announced the passing of Joan M. Tottingham, who peacefully left this world on October 30, 2023, in her 87th year to be reunited after 20 years apart, with the love of her life, her predeceased husband, James C. Tottingham.

Born on August 20, 1936, she was the fifth of eight children born to "Willis" and “Susie” Waterhouse in Harden, Montana. The family moved to Yakima Valley in 1949 settling in the Granger area. In 1953, she met her husband and spent many years moving around the USA with him during his active years of service before they settled in Yerington, Nevada, in 1993. June 2023, she moved to Bellingham, Washington with family for the remainder of her life.

Joan was preceded in death by her son Mike Tottingham and husband James C. Tottingham. She is fondly remembered by her daughter Karen Perez, grandchildren James Young (Shawna), Ian Young (Sara), Kristina Young and Melissa Young. Great-grandchildren Bella Swinney, Harmony Swinney, Sébastian Young, Samantha Young and Amelia Young.

Joan's life was a testament to her strong character, profound strength, and nobility. Joan’s extraordinary life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her loved ones, and her absence leaves an immense void. But in our mourning, we remember and honor her determination, her strength, and her commitment to those she loved. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

A celebration of Joan's life will be held privately by her family. Joan's love, wisdom, and warmth will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
