Joan's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Louise Kyle, age 91, of Palos Heights, IL, formerly of Hazel Crest, who left us on October 20, 2024, just one day shy of her birthday. Born on October 21, 1932, in Chicago to Leo and Elizabeth Barnett, Joan brought love and light to all who knew her.

On December 31, 1950, she married her soulmate, Jerry L. Kyle, embarking on a beautiful journey of love that lasted 71 years until his passing in 2021. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home, raising three cherished children and instilling in them the values of kindness and generosity.

Joan was the heart of her family, a devoted homemaker whose hands crafted delicious meals and lovingly sewn creations. A passionate Bible student and teacher, her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through each day with unwavering love and compassion.

She was a vibrant presence, remembered fondly as a devoted grandmother who had a special knack for making each grandchild feel uniquely cherished. Her love for fashion made her a snappy dresser, while her generous spirit knew no bounds. Joan was funny, warm, and ever ready to share a laugh, and her love for Jerry was a testament to the power of enduring devotion.

Joan is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry and her son Scott Timothy Kyle. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Connie Grossheider (Rick) and Lori Kyle; five adoring grandchildren, Ryan (Suzanne) Grossheider, Bethany L. Grossheider, Adam K. Grossheider, Ashley (Skyler) Vitoux, and Alexa Murray; and two treasured great-grandchildren, Rylee Vitoux and Hazel Vitoux.

A celebration of Joan’s remarkable life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to AquaGreen Dispositions, 708-606-0211.
