Joan M. Clements was one of four children born to William A and Laura A Clements nee Bellemare on August 30, 1932 in Queens, New York. Joan attended Catholic Grade and High School in Ozone Park, NY and graduated from St. Catherine's Nursing Academy, earning her Nursing Degree. Many years later she received her BA in Nursing from Alverno College in Illinois.
