Joan's obituary
Joan Marie Bracewell passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2026 at the age of 64. She will be remembered by her family and many friends.
Joan is predeceased by her daughter, Courtney Bracewell, parents, Barbara and Robert Applegren, and sister, Kathleen Shaddix. She is survived by two brothers, Robert Applegren (Gloria) and Russ Applegren, and sister, Laura Brickel. She had many special nieces, including Kelly Brickel, Trista Guest (Casey), and Lauren Applegren, and nephews, Michael Shaddix, Daniel Shaddix (Cody), and Ray Applegren.
Joan never missed an opportunity to throw witty banters into a conversation. She was a fan of NASCAR and NFL, soap operas and rock music, baking and cooking. She kept her only daughter, Courtney, close to her memory everyday and had great faith that she would see her again.
The Apostle Paul said, “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” Though her earthly life has finished, Joan has been reunited with Courtney and her heart has been made completely whole again.
