We are so sorry for the loss of your mother, Joan.   She and I were best friends in high school.  She was in our wedding.  I will miss her phone calls.

I have such fond memories of your mother. She loved getting all the neighborhood children together to go for walks. At times we would walk down the carriage path behind Sunrise. It was a great escape from the heat of the summer.  (What town has a carrage path graced with thick growth of gorgeous old trees on both sides from the pre-car era? )I remember one time she insisted we make ice cream there. So much fun. So glad I was blessed to know her. Kellie Beeson ( Maroney)
Joan was a bright spot in my mother's life. These last many months she and my mother would often hold hands in peaceful silence. They actually prided themselves on being quiet. My mother Alice introduced her one day saying "She's quiet too." In better days they lived in the assisted living part of the Wellmore community and enjoyed social gatherings and meals together. My favorite Joan moment was when she allowed me to read aloud to a group in the bistro her "love note" to her then boyfriend (future husband) that she wrote on a late shift as a nurse. It was written on a very long piece of accordion computer print out paper and full of lovely light-hearted, slice-of-life moments. We will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her children, their spouses and grandchildren of whom she was very proud.

Dear Kim and David,

We are so sorry for the loss of your dear mother, Joan. She was a loving person and friendly neighbor, and we're glad to have known her. You and your family have are deepest sympathy and prayers.

Kindest Regards,

Bob and Maria Sherrard

There is so much to say about my Aunt Joan...she was my sister, mom, mentor, teacher, and the best friend.  She loved to learn and then to teach others.  Her helping hand and generosity, compassion, her stories and laughter...that smile that lit up a room!  She made friends wherever she went  and was always ready for new experiences.  Though she had challenges of her own, she never failed to reach out with a caring word or a kind gesture that made others feel special.  Her faith guided me along and helped me to face my fears and overcome  obstacles.  I will miss her, but know I will see her again one day.  Thank you for blessing my life.  I'll love you always.

Kim, I have been thinking about your mom so much in the past few weeks & just recently googled her to find out where she was living. Bill & I have wonderful memories of the care she gave our youngest daughter when I was working. It was a wonderful relief to know Susan was receiving such kind & nurturing care. Please keep me posted about the celebration of her life in Charleston. She will be greatly missed.
Joan was always a bright spot in my day. She was always talking about her children. You could tell she was very proud of them. God protect you both and your family during this time.
While we didn’t know your mother well, Lance and I enjoyed meeting her.  We are so sorry for your loss.  Our prayers are with you.  Emily and Lance Mannion

Kimberly- My heart and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Your mom was an amazing woman. The apple did not fall far. 💕
I’m so sorry Binford. Your mom was an amazing woman for sure by her list of amazing skills and gifts she shared with others on this planet. You display the same uniqueness and gifts she imparted to you her beautiful daughter. I love you Binford and praying for peace and comfort to that spot in your heart that needs a little extra TLC in this part of the journey❤️ ~Sam
