Jimmy's obituary
What a wonderful man of God! Dad was a great Royal Ranger Leader for many years. He never backed down from anything God wanted him to do. He always trusted in God to lead and direct his path on a daily basis. He was co-Pastor at Liberty Tabernacle in the 1970's in Fort Worth Texas. He built an Assembly Of God church in Mason, Texas. Pastor in Weslaco, Texas and in West,Texas. He was a Pastor, Evangelist and loved to witness to anyone about Jesus. When the Assemblies asked him what would he do if they didn't give him his preaching license? He said, it didn't matter cause they didn't call him to preach God did! He was ordained with the Assemblies Of God for 45 years.
Dad would have given you his last dollar or coat to any person in need. He would pray with you on the street corner or at an alter. And through his life he did just that. He was a great mechanic and paint and body man earlier in life but his main objective was to follow Jesus. He loved to fish and spend time with all of his family. He thought every child should experience fishing and camping on a creek bank. He loved to be outdoors and enjoy the vastness of God's creation on this earth. He loved to travel with Mom ( Sue Patterson) before her demise in 2011. These words do not do him justice for there is a life time of wonderful in between each line that I give you today.
He has 4 children : ( Dianna Patterson Armstrong who has preceded him in 2000) Julia Leeper, Cynthia Anthony, Jimmy Patterson Jr. who currently reside in Valley Mill, Texas.
Grandchildren: Jeffrey Thrift, Andrew Jones, Jennifer Patterson, Matthew Anthony, Jeremy Anthony, Amanda Armstrong, Daniel Armstrong. And 8 Great Grandchildren.
