Jimmie's obituary

Jimmie Dean Guinn (62) of North Kansas City, Missouri, passed away August 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Jimmie (Jim) was born to Delores May Walker and Richard Lee Guinn on January 19, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas.

Jimmie was many things to many people - including a loving father, grandfather, soon-to-be great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an avid and eclectic music fan – he loved sharing some obscure song he discovered with anyone that would listen but was also always down for some classics. Jimmie was a mechanical guru – there wasn’t an automobile or any other thing he didn’t know, or couldn’t figure out, how to fix. He also had an incredible green-thumb and a natural knack with animals of all kinds.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, grand-parents, wife (Laura Lee Guinn), brothers (Dennis and Ricky Guinn), Mother-in-law (Phyllis Lee) and nephew (Travis Guinn).

He will be forever lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jessica Floren (Brian Floren), Jamie Guinn, and son, Matthew Guinn (Carrie Guinn), his partner, Julie Gibler, his grand-children Andrew, Tanner, Emma, Ayden, JT, Damien, Miranda, Diego, Mateo, and Alena, and great-granddaughter Honey Mae.

Jimmie will also be missed by his siblings, Kathy, David (Linda), Terry (Pam), Jeff (Vicky), Father-in-law, Larry James, Sisters-in-law, Carol & Cathy, and 13 nieces and nephews, plus countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes your donation to help them throw a BBQ Pool Party & Fireworks Bash to honor his favorite kind of get-together – a fun one! Jimmie’s Celebration of Life will be on September 1, 2024 @ 4038 Rooks North Road – Atchison, KS 66002.

All who would like to pay their respects are invited to join from 2:00-5:00pm, and the family will continue the celebration into the evening, ending with a fireworks finale sendoff for Jimmie.
