Jimmie Eugene Kelley, known to his loved ones as Gene, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 71 at his home in Weogufka, Alabama. Born on September 2, 1952, in Childersburg, Gene was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need and was a beloved neighbor within his community. Gene's warm heart extended to his wife, children, grandchildren, and his dogs, whom he cherished dearly.

In addition to his dedication to his family, Gene had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed spending time in nature. His love for hunting was matched only by his love for his family and his grandchildren. Gene found joy in their company and treasured the moments they shared together.  Gene also enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing and Alabama football.

Professionally, Gene was a hardworking man who owned his own roofing company. With over 40 years of experience as a roofer, he was known for his dedication and craftsmanship. Gene's strong work ethic was evident in every project he undertook, and he took great pride in his career.

Gene will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his wife, Felicia Pope Kelley; his sister, Glenda Johnson; his sons, Dewayne Isabell (Stefanie), Taft Till (Beth), and Josh Kelley; his daughters, Stephanie Till Morris (Chris) and LeAnn Kelley Ogle (Kanyon); and his cherished grandchildren, Drake Isabell, Avery Isabell, Jayde Morris, Lexie Taylor, Kelcie Kelley, Laren Meyers, Scarlet Keel, Elijah Till, and Kashtyn Ogle. He was preceded in death by his father, J.L Kelley, his mother, Evelyn Nobles Kelley, and his brother-in-law, Roy Johnson.
