Jim was born to Lynetta Putnam and James Thurman Jones on May 13, 1931, in a little town in Indiana. In his early ages he enjoyed reading, he took a particular interest in Gandhi and Hitler. He then quickly developed an interest in religion and death.
Jim Jones was a cult leader, and mass murderer who fathered 9 children. He had a wife, Marceline Baldwin Jones who also passed away the same day as her husband. However they did adopt several children of different ethnicities. They referred to his household as the "rainbow family."
