(in my best Jim voice) "Had a great time hanging out with my best buddy, Jim"

Jim -- you are the best parts of us. You are the reason we can see the positive in any situation. You are the reason we are always down for any adventure. And while these days are the hardest of my entire life, the positive is that all of the days before that, I got to have you. I got to have an older brother and a built in best friend. I feel like I've had countless adventures and lived endless lifetimes with you. Through it all.

In recent years, Jim especially has taught me to appreciate the power of family. Jim could have lived anywhere in the country, hell, the world. But he intentionally chose to stay in and around PA. He intentionally chose to spend every holiday at home with my parents, Gram, my brother and sister-in-law and our niece. He traveled to see our extended family for various celebrations. He spent time reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones. All he wanted on his 40th birthday was to be home with our parents to celebrate with them. When people would ask him why he would be in the city, he would say "I have family here".

And with Jim it was never just blood family. I know so many of you felt that Jim was your brother. And to be able to share in that feeling as I've gotten to speak to people is a testament to how much Jim put into his connections, and how much of an impression he made on this earth.

So Jim -- all I can say is damn, man. Those really were the good times. And while I am not sure right now I can see to the other side of this, all I can promise you is that we will keep rolling on. Holding each other close. Appreciating all of the little joys life has to offer. I can't believe you went on this last adventure without me. I love you so much brother.

Walked around all day exploring this park. Found some cool train tracks. And then we hung out on this log for awhile. I remember we caught up on a lot of stuff -- we hadn't hung out 1:1 in awhile.

This was the last time we saw…
This was the last time we saw Jim. We went over to send him off as he was moving out of his sublet in Greenpoint and heading back to PA. We met Jim's bodega guys who absolutely loved him. He was so excited to be going back home. Josh smashed his finger loading up a 100lb suitcase of crystals, but we still had a great time. We are both so happy the last time we saw him was a joyous one and left us with more funny Jim stories.
