Jim was not just a former workmate but also a mentor and friend. It was an honor to work with him. We had the opportunity to meet in person twice in the Philippines, first in 2018 and again in 2019.
Even after leaving M2, I considered him my first friend from the United States. He was good at sharing his passion for travel and the liberating lifestyle of a digital nomad. Jim's unwavering belief in the power of hard work and patience to achieve dreams was inspiring, motivating me both professionally and personally.
Jim was renowned for his kindness and was cherished by all who knew him at work. He was once tagged as the “Mr. Congeniality of M2” for his friendly interactions with everyone.
We had plans to reunite in Canada and US with other former colleagues, but unfortunately, it seems that won’t be happening now.
Jim, gone too soon, my friend, may you find eternal peace knowing you lived life to its fullest. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jim Devine. I had the privilege of meeting Jim in 2017 at MonetizeMore, and we quickly connected over our shared passion for machine learning and artificial intelligence. Jim was not only a kind and generous person but also someone who constantly sought knowledge and inspired those around him.
Even after he left MonetizeMore, we continued to collaborate, and our friendship grew stronger. Jim's enthusiasm and positive presence were truly infectious. He even encouraged me to take up MMA, something I might never have tried without his encouragement.
Our last conversations were about the exciting future of artificial intelligence and the possibility of meeting if he visits Vancouver.
Jim will be greatly missed. I will never forget his kindness, passion, and friendship, and I am grateful for the time we spent together.

I met Jim 25 years ago. One of my favorite memories of him happened soon after we met. We were walking through Stackhouse Park and he was so excited, talking about something we saw or did. I never remembered what we were even talking about because his smile lit up his entire face, and his enthusiasm just drew me to him. In that moment I looked at him and thought, Wow. This guy is different. He’s amazing. And I never stopped thinking that.
As I got to know Jim more I saw how caring he was. He brought out the best in people. He reached out to anyone who was feeling excluded and included them. His love and loyalty to his family and friends was evident in all he did. Just another part of what made Jim so special.
You were such a bright light, Jim. Even though we hadn’t seen each other in a while, it was enough just knowing you were in the world. Everything just seems a little dimmer now. I am so blessed to have had you as a friend for so many years. Thank you for all the good times and good memories. I love you. I miss you. Always.
