James Eugene Crouch, 74, of Norris City, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois. He was born on August 6, 1948, in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Daphne Elizabeth (Morehead) Crouch. Jim married Brenda Joyce Howard on May 16, 1975, and she survives. He was a member of the Eldorado Church of God. He was always teaching the Bible and enjoyed singing gospel music. Jim was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, L.A. Dodgers and Philadelphia 76ers "Dr. J all the way." He enjoyed collecting coins, especially Wheat Pennies. Jim was also on the Norris City Sanitary Board, Norris City Industries, served as the Village Clerk since 1977, and served over 40 years as a Norris City Library Treasurer. Jim owned and operated Crouch's Accounting Services since 1976.

In addition to his wife, Brenda Crouch of Norris City, IL, Jim is survived by a brother, Dr. John Raymond (Janet) Crouch of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Daphne Joan Hamilton of Moro, IL, and Gwendolyn Ann Jones of Orlando, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kay Vailes, Marla Appel, Carmen Rockett and Les Hafford. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy O'Bannon.

Funeral services for Jim Crouch will be held 10;59 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Eldorado Church of God, located at 1600 Marshall St. Eldorado, IL. 62930. Burial will follow in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown, IL. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Eldorado Church of God.
