Jim (Gym) always had a smile to greet all!! As everyone else has said - he was genuinely friendly - just made people feel good! A life well lived indeed❤️RIP❤️
My condolences to Buck and Jim's family. I worked with Jim at BMS and can support everything his colleagues say about him and then some. He always had a smile for everyone, and I remember many times just seeking him out to chat, complain, or find out where he was going next to see Delbert McClinton or Marcia Ball. His positivity and lifeforce lifted everyone in its wake. He was a delightful human being. Rest in peace and know your life was well-lived and you were loved by many.
My condolences to the family.  He was a good coach.  He was always making people smile. He would mess with the kids all the time.
To an awesome human being and coach. You will always have a place in my mom's heart and mine for the extra mile you showed us when I was in. The hospital with one eye.  You showed such compassion and thoughtfulness, you helped me realize I could overcome anything if I put my mind to it, and I want to send prayers to Buck for peace and comfort.
I was fortunate to have taught with Jim for over 25 years.  He made the 200 hallway so much fun, he was life if the party! I always started the year right getting my hug and kiss from him. My condolences to all the friends and family. Buck you are in my prayers for comfort with the journey you had.
I taught with Coach Bailey at Bastrop Middle School. He had an infectious personality! Sorry to hear of his passing.
Bucky, your old babysitters send our love and support during this difficult time. We remember you and your dad with much love. We kept you when he would be coaching a game. Jim gave us many happy times with that great big smile and laugh. He and Kay also worked at BHS during some of the times he taught and coached there. We pray for God’s peace and comfort on you and all your family. We miss Jim and you very much.
I'm sorry to hear about Coach Bailey's passing. I can still picture him standing at his classroom door, waiting for my school mates with a big smile, and you could hear them saying, 'Hey, Coach!' Was there ever a time when he didn’t smile?
Jim was a special friend and I remember him welcoming me in the teaching staff at Bastrop Middle School. He was an amazing man and an awesome teacher and an inspiration to all he encountered. Jim, you will be missed.

My condolences go out to you little Buck. He loved his son to the moon and back. We always battle in free throw competition, he always say I couldn’t beat you lol so you came to bastrop and beat both of us.

He will be missed, he was a great friend of mine. Always positive and always smiling and willing to help anyone especially the students in Bastrop. He always been a positive road model to me and others.  For my Birthday him and I went to James Brown concert, we both was so excited to attend the concert.

I have so many memories of Coach Baily , I can write a  book. Once again Buck my condolences go out to you and your family 🙏keep making your pops proud.  Continue to be a great father to your son like your dad was to you.  If you ever get stuck in parenting, just ask your self, what will pop’s do in this situation. 🙏🥲

Jim was so much more then a cousin to us. He was a very dear friend. We had countless amazing times together. We all loved him very much.

We are all very sad to hear of his passing and are happy he is finally at peace.

Thanks for the wonderful memories.

With so much love,

Enid, Carrie, & Glen and the entire Shotwell & Sanchez

family.

The Alderfer family sends our love to you all ! It was so great having the Bailey family move to McDonald! We had so much fun growing up with Jim and Lynn! JIm was always a wild and crazy guy! JIm will be remembered by so many people that he touched during his life!
I taught with Coach Bailey during the 97-98 & 98-99 school years. They were my first two years to teach and coach. Coach made my first two years memorable and we had tons of fun teaching PE together. He was truly one of a kind! Rest well and thanks for your positive influence on my path.
