Jill Teresa(Schoenfelder) Sorrell, 47, of Woodbury, MN passed away unexpectedly of an undiagnosed heart condition on January 25, 2024.

Jill was born on September 27, 1976, in Rochester, MN to Randall and Patricia(Gulden) Schoenfelder. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1995 and in 1997 she followed her love of travel by completing Carlson Travel Academy. Jill worked with many travel agencies but honed her skills working for Travel Leaders. Jill eventually became an independent travel designer and founded Travel by Jill. Jill didn’t stop with travel design, she also ventured into insurance, investment, and financial services with Primerica. While attending a Primerica event in Las Vegas, she met her husband, Shawn in 2010. The Midwest gal and East Coast gentleman were married July 28, 2013, on the Schoenfelder family farm in Rochester, MN.

Jill LUV2TVL, walking, spending time with friends attending Vikings games, the Renaissance Festival, YMCA family camp, country music concerts and playing softball with the Ms. Takes. Jill cherished motherhood and enjoyed helping other mothers realize their potential while participating in Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) and Mom’s Club. She was a country girl at heart, and enjoyed the finer things in life, visiting exotic places, and taking first-class flights whenever possible. To spend time with Jill was to expect the unexpected and witness a few tears, even though the situation might not seem to call for tears. Jill was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, avid reader, and travel designer who enjoyed creating memorable vacations for her clients, family, and friends. Jill attended Eagle Brook Church for over 15 years. Jill embodied fun, happiness, and life and her laughter and carefree attitude will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Shawn; son Xi’an; daughters', Zyana and Yanise; bonus-son, Daniel (Ja’onna) Gates and bonus-granddaughter, Naomi of Millsboro, DE; parents, Randy and Pat Schoenfelder of Rochester, MN; mother-in-law, Yovnnie Sorrell of Woodbury, MN; brothers’ John(Therese) and Jeff(Jennifer) Schoenfelder of Rochester; nephews: Tyler(Samantha), Braeden, Joel, and Kelton; nieces: Krista, Keelyn, Cassie, Reilyn, and Jaelyn all of Rochester, MN; along with a great-niece, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends near and far. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11am at Five Oaks Church, 4416 Radio Drive, Woodbury, MN 55129. Visitation will be held at 10am and services will be followed by a luncheon. Private family burial will be held at a later date at St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Simpson, MN.
