A Life of Love, Laughter, & a Lil’ Confetti
Jill Shahan had a way of making life brighter—through her laughter, her love, and, of course, a sprinkle of confetti along the way. She wasn’t just someone you knew; she was someone you felt—in the warmth of her smile, the strength of her belief in you, and the endless ways she made every moment special.
Her daughters, Jennifer and Allison, were the center of her universe. She was their fiercest cheerleader, their unwavering protector, and the voice that reminded them they could do anything. With Jill in your corner, you didn’t just feel supported—you felt unstoppable.
Jill’s love story with Greg was nothing short of extraordinary. He was her best friend, her soulmate, her partner in laughter and life. Theirs was a love built on joy, devotion, and an unshakable bond that grew deeper with every adventure they shared.
Her heart was as expansive as her joy, and it showed in the way she loved—her family, her friends, and even the ever-growing zoo of animals she couldn’t resist allowing her daughters to adopt any animals at a space nearby brunch after Sunday church. Dogs, bunnies, hamsters, birds—even a cat, despite her allergies—because Jill’s love always won out over logic.
She cherished her sisters, MaryLou, LynnAnn, and Joan, sharing a lifetime of memories filled with laughter and love. Her best friend, Gail, was family in every way that mattered.
Jill had a signature move—one that left a literal trail of joy. Every greeting card she sent was stuffed with confetti, an explosion of celebration that spilled onto floors, into car seats, and across desks long after the envelope was opened. It was her way of saying: This moment matters. You matter.
Her stories were legendary—tales of her cheerleading days, her time working for the FBI, and, most importantly, her adventures as a mom. But her favorite stories were always about Jennifer and Allison. They weren’t just her daughters; they were her life’s greatest joy.
Jill’s legacy is love. It’s laughter. It’s the sparkle she left behind in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She taught us to embrace joy, to believe in magic, and to always, always carry a little confetti—just in case.
Though she is no longer with us, she is everywhere: in every act of kindness, every burst of laughter, and every unexpected glimmer of confetti we find in the most surprising places.
