I have know Jette all my life. My family and the Marosfalvy’s shared many family vacations together - camping along the Canadian and America eastern coastline, to epic 3 week vacations in Europe, to long extended stays at our family cottage, as well as trips to New Jersey, Florida, North Carolina, and Dallas. Every moment we spent with Jette and the entire Marosfalvy family was a special moment. Our families just seemed to click really well. It’s been a struggle these past few weeks, knowing that Jette is no longer with us. I know she’s still in our hearts will remain there forever.
What do I remember most - she was an amazing cook - whether in her own kitchen, at our cottage, or over the Colman stove at our campsite, we always ate well. I’ll never forget the Christmas we spent in Dallas where we were treated with a delicious German feast on Christmas Eve, followed by an immense and unforgettable Danish smorgasbord of food on Christmas Day.
I loved her smiles, her big hugs, her willingness to help, and her big heart. Every year, on my birthday, I would get a birthday card from her..and without fail, it arrived on my birthday EVERY YEAR. I don’t know how she managed it, but it was always so special to get that card in the mail, giving me the update of her travels, her kids and grandkids and always wishing us well.
I could write so many stories and memories, as I’ve been reliving some of these vacations and special moments over the last few weeks. I will share a few photos of some of our vacations. The last time I saw Hans and Jette was when we hosted them at our home in Stratford. We took them to a play, had a picnic lunch by the river and we toured the costume warehouse where everyone got to play dress up.
Big hugs to Hans, Kristine, Nikolas and everyone who knew Jette and how special she was.
