Jesson Colin Prohaska, 45, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on July 2, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 12, 1980, in Parma, Ohio, Jesson grew up in Medina and spent several years in Denver, Colorado before returning to his hometown. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron, where he graduated as an honors scholar and valedictorian. He later completed his MBA at Cleveland State University.
Jesson built a successful career that spanned both Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial ventures. He was known for his drive, sharp intellect, and unwavering dedication to everything he pursued.
He was passionate about his family, loved exploring the outdoors, and remained a loyal Cleveland Browns fan through every season.
Jesson is survived by his two beloved children, Aiden Prohaska and Ava Prohaska; his mother, Sally Sample; and his sisters, Lauren Prohaska and Melanie Prohaska. He is also remembered by his former spouse, Sonya Roberts. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Prohaska.
Jesson was a force of nature, bold, brave, and compassionate. He had an incredible ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his presence will be deeply missed by many.
A private service will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jesson’s memory to a charity of your choice, or to an organization supporting cancer research.
