Jesse's obituary
Jesse was born in East Hartford, Connecticut on February 12, 1997 to Randy Devoreaux and Kayla Devoreaux.
He is survived by his 2 brothers, Lucas Devoreaux and Damian Devoreaux, both from Bristol, Connecticut, his aunt Jennifer Archambeau, his Uncle Stephen Archambeau; and a host of cousins and friends. Jesse's parents are both deceased.
Jesse was known for being a fierce and courageous advocate both locally and in online forums for LGBT Youth, Anti-bullying and suicide prevention. Jesse was tireless in supporting and counseling thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.
Jesse's passion for support came from his troubled and violent youth. Jesse was violently beaten by 5 assailants with baseball bats at the age of 13 for being gay.
This attack left Jesse with developing blood clots on his brain for the rest of his life. This eventually lead to his death after multiple surgical attempts to remove the blood clots.
He loved to play and write music and auto-biographical stories of his life and struggles as an inspiration for others suffering from similiar experiences in life. Jesse was multi-talented musically, playing the guitar, piano, harmonica. He was an amazingly talented and self-taught vocalist in many genre's of music. He was highly skilled in combat tai chi Chuan after studying it with his brothers for several years. He enjoyed video games, movies and being with his brothers and best friend Zachary Brewster of East Hartford. Connecticut.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the foot of Bear Mountain hiking trails at 2pm in Salisbury, CT followed by the spreading of Jesse's ashes at his favorite spot on the mountain.
Jesse would wish that donations be made in his name to your local LGBT charities.
