I’m so sorry to hear about Jess’s passing I had no idea I’m a friend from his casino days at Delta I’m so sad! I know he fond of fishing now he’s fishing in Heaven now. Fly high Jess May you RIP!

 I relocated from San Diego to Houston and landed on Beekman Street in 1953. I entered the fourth grade and met Jess Akin III, my new neighbor right across the street. We went to school together through our U of H college years. I worked with Jess at his father’s store, Akin Drive In Grocery for Six years. We both were in the army (Jess in Alabama, me in Viet Nam). Jess became an Insurance Agent and I have been a customer from the beginning. Jess has been a loving friend for all these years. Many, Many memories.

I’m so sorry to hear that Jess has passed away.  I’ve known Jess  for over 50 years,  He was a friend, a one  of a kind person. When I decided to go into commercial insurance he helped me,  He was funny, curious, and always a friend to me.

My deepest condolences to Jess's family during this difficult time. I worked for Jess for 16 years. He gave me my start in insurance and I would not be where I am today without his guidance and knowledge. He was such an outgoing person and never met a stranger. May his family find peace during this time. 

My condolences go out to the family of Jess. I worked for Jess for several years he was an amazing boss and I would not be where I am today in my career if it was not for him.  I went by the office a couple of months ago and surprised him with a visit.  It was so nice to catch up with him.  He had a heart of gold and always made me laugh. He will be missed dearly.
