Jerzy “Jurek” Paszkiewicz passed away on September 2, 2021 at the age of 69, in his hometown of Eustis, Florida after a long battle with cancer. Despite the pain, Jurek stayed strong until the end.

Early on in life, Jurek recognized his strengths and the need to help others. After his mandatory service in the Polish Army, he decided to become a firefighter and save lives. He was in his late 30s when he immigrated to the US. Unfortunately, he could not continue to do what he loved. Jurek’s passion for driving opened the door to becoming a professional truck driver. With always changing scenery as the wheels were rolling, and tens of thousands of miles were recorded on the odometer, Jurek was the ultimate professional. He made sure his goods were always delivered on time. He never stopped even during the worst times of the 2020 pandemic.

Jurek met his wife, Ela, in his hometown, Radom. They tied the knot in June 1976. Together, they had two girls: Monika and Dorota.

Jurek will be honored in a memorial mass at St. Mary of the Lakes at 9 AM EST, followed by a short graveside ceremony held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Jerzy „Jurek” Paszkiewicz zmarł 2 września 2021 roku w wieku 69 lat w rodzinnym Eustis na Florydzie po długiej walce z rakiem. Mimo bólu Jurek pozostał silny do końca.

Już na początku życia Jurek dostrzegł swoje mocne strony i potrzebę niesienia pomocy innym. Po odbyciu obowiązkowej służby w Wojsku Polskim postanowił zostać strażakiem i ratować ludzkie życie. Miał ponad trzydzieści lat, kiedy wyemigrował do USA. Niestety nie mógł dalej robić tego, co kochał. Pasja Jurka do jazdy otworzyła mu drogę do zostania zawodowym kierowcą ciężarówki. Przy ciągle zmieniającej się scenerii, gdy koła toczyły się, a dziesiątki tysięcy kilometrów rejestrowało się na liczniku, Jurek był najlepszym profesjonalistą. Dbał o to, aby jego każdy towar był zawsze dostarczany na czas. Nigdy nie zatrzymał się nawet w najgorszych czasach pandemii w 2020 roku.

Jurek poznał swoją żonę Elę w rodzinnym Radomiu. Związali się w czerwcu 1976 roku. Razem mieli dwie córki: Monikę i Dorotę.

Jurek zostanie uhonorowany mszą żałobną w kościele katolickim "St. Mary of the Lakes" o godzinie 9 rano, po której nastąpi krótka ceremonia pogrzebowa na cmentarzu "Lakeside Memorial Gardens."
